Should you use AI-generated or ‘humanized’ writing to save money?

I want to tell you no. Why?

Because AI writing is formulaic, boring and basically sh*t.

And Google isn’t a fan. (Or are they? Read on to find out.)

There. I’ve no doubt broken several rules of ‘correct’ writing through my vulgarity, whimsical use of words, cadence, and punctuation.

But that’s because I can. I’m a skilled, experienced, and quirky living being. That’s a big part of what gives human writing flair. AI can’t compete.
But I’ll break it down for you, since the answer to the question is… it depends.

This is why you shouldn’t use AI content

Unlike a creative and free-spirited human, AI is bound to strict rules and guidelines and has a penchant for the painful overuse of certain phrases, words, and dashes.

(Anyone want to delve into a garden? It’s not just an ordinary garden, it's a vibrant, game-changing, paradigm-shifting beacon of a garden where we can navigate a sea of cheesy metaphors -  a delicate dance woven between…. Ok, ok, I’ll stop now.)

If that wasn’t enough, the AI formula is becoming so blatant, that anyone who works with AI on a regular basis can spot AI text a mile off.

(A recent boyfriend used AI to form a ‘cutting’ break-up text! And he knew I’d know, grrr. Anyway.)

Every time I see a company email or website by AI, my eyes glaze over, and I lose respect for that company.

And I’m not the only one. After chatting with VCs at a recent blockchain conference, I discovered that many won't work with projects that use AI for writing.

Also, remember that when you use AI, a writing fairy dies in the woods at sunset.
Not really. I’m being dramatic. Humans get to do that too. Yay!
Anyway, if you’re trying to build a brand, then just… don’t. Especially not for your website copy!
Not only is it a big turnoff to potential readers (boring zzzzz), you also risk being penalized by Google in the long run - and your website being ignored or even de-indexed.
PS. And just in case you think social media posts don’t count, remember those AI-hating VCs? They also reject projects that use AI on their socials!
How many of your potential clients will do the same?
TLDR - If you want copywriting, whitepapers, blog articles, etc. for your own sites, or anything else that reflects your brand then hire a native speaker with genuine skill.

You’ll get better writing, proper research, genuine knowledge, and a compelling and fitting voice and tone, adjusted to suit the needs of your brand, business,

and audience/s.

And you won’t bore your readers! Wooo!

And now… Here’s the case for considering (partly) AI-generated articles

If you take your writing straight from AI, everyone will figure it out sooner or later. Including Google. And since AI is fond of hallucinating stuff, you will find bizarre statements and ‘facts’ sprinkled in your content.

So why do I say you should consider it?

If you want to use AI for branding, blogging, and websites, STOP, go back to the first half of this post, and do not pass go.

(Unless you’re good with mediocrity, that is.)

If, on the other hand, you need to pump out a high volume of content for a marketing strategy, then AI-assisted writing could be an effective cost-saving solution

Google isn’t formally against using AI as a tool to help create good content, such as charts and graphs, and even assisted writing. But if you just copy pasta from ChatGPT (even with tweaks), your content won’t get indexed (we know, we tested it).

The solution? Get an ESL crypto team with real knowledge that uses AI to assist them.

Nothing beats a native speaker and expert writer when it comes to fantastic writing. However, my ESL (English as a Second Language) blockchain experts do create good quality content. Using their knowledge of the industry and AI as a tool.

And, importantly, guided and trained by me!

They’ll remove the cheesy cliches, telltale words, AI madness, and footprints, and input their expertise and personal touches.

Google is currently ranking this content.

And we’re staying one step ahead of the game.

This brings down the cost of your marketing budget, especially if you need a high volume of content.

If you choose this route, I’ll ensure that my crypto experts create interesting and relevant articles for you!

To AI or Not to AI - The Final Word

AI is a tool and can be used for good or bad.

(Confession time: the images for this post were made with AI)
.

There are times when AI-assisted content is a good choice
, and we can help with that.

But for the important stuff like your website, blog, and socials, consider doing the world (and your business!) a favour and commission human content that is interesting/persuasive/informative, and of a high standard.

This will ensure that your brand stands out, and as a side benefit, that all of humanity's creativity isn’t lost in a quagmire of AI-generated everything!
